REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY

Teams must forward an approved OMHA or Branch/Member Partner Hockey Canada roster with their tournament application. The team roster that is submitted with the tournament application will comprise eligible players. Any exception (roster changes – affiliated players added), or other reason, must be brought to the attention of the on-site tournament convenor no later than twenty (20) minutes prior to the game in which the exception applies.

All players eligible to participate must be on the team's approved official roster.

Over-aged players will be accepted if the player is approved on the team’s official roster, with the maximum number of overage players being two (2) per team.

A team which is found to have used an ineligible player in a tournament game shall have the game defaulted. The tournament convenor may take further action against the offending team depending on the severity of the infraction.

All teams are required to have six (6) players dressed to start each game. Teams below this level may play but will forfeit the game regardless of the outcome. The coach who would benefit from the default must declare his/her intention to claim the default at the end of the first period and have it verified and recorded on the game sheet by the referee.

Teams are required to register with the tournament office forty-five (45) minutes prior to their first game. Team managers must have their official approved roster and travel permit from their home association. All tournament game sheets will be handed out by the on-site convenor at each arena prior to each game.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  1. This is a house league tournament and there is no body checking permitted at any level in the tournament.
  2. All games are scheduled to have three (3) ten (10) minute stop time periods. To ensure the schedule is maintained, the round robin games may be subject to curfew, at the discretion of the on-site tournament convenor. No timeouts are permitted during round robin play. Teams should be prepared to start each game up to ten (10) minutes in advance of the scheduled game time, if required to do so. For details on championship games – see items 15-19 below.
  3. Teams will shake hands prior to the game.
  4. Ejected players are not permitted to return to their team bench area following the end of the game for any reason.

The teams finishing first and second overall, will play for the ‘A’ championship; third and fourth overall, play for the ‘B’ championship; and, fifth and sixth overall, play for the ‘C’ championship.
