Bursary

Jack Tee Memorial Bursary 2007-2008

Awarded to Tyler Daines and presented by Dave O'Connor. Tyler has played with Coach Dave for all of his 13 years with the St Johns association. After graduating from Holy Cross Secondary School and completing his final year of hockey with St Johns, Tyler is pursuing a post secondary education in Electrical Engineering at St Lawrence College. Tyler took the time to thank the CAL and his family for the many years of "bringing him to the rink."

Awarded to Ben Blake a Queen Street player for over 11 years. Ben has also played PD Panthers and has been a CAL timekeeper and a volunteer at various CAL events. In his spare time Ben competes in mountain bike racing and is a nationally ranked junior in this sport. After graduating from Kingston Collegiate and completing his final year of hockey with Queen Street, Ben will be pursuing a post secondary education in Engineering at McGill University in Montreal. 

Award 

Chris Rayner Memorial Coaching Excellence Award 2007-2008 

Awarded to Tim Gregory, Head Coach Atom Major PD Panthers and presented by 2006-2007 winner Hugh Mackenzie. 

From the Nomination: Tim Gregory, Head Coach of the Atom Major PD Panthers team exemplifies all that the CAL stands for in values and hockey ethics. He devotes his own personal time and does not have a child on our team and does not have a young child in the CAL, but he gives his all for a team of 10&11 year olds. Tim has not had a child playing at this age level for many years now, and yet he has coached the Atom PD team in 2006-2007 season and this current 2007-2008 season. Tim's guidance brought this team to 3 Gold wins in hockey tournaments across Ontario.

Tim with David & Claire Rayner. Tim said that it was an honour for him to receive this award particularly in the name of Chris Rayner, as Tim & Chris had coached IP together in the CAL many years ago.
